Every shopper's call answered, even when you can't

When your team is packing orders, on another line or offline for the night, the AI Receptionist picks up your store's phone. It answers questions about shipping, returns and your products from what you tell it, takes a message or transfers the call, and emails you a summary.

7-day free trial with 30 minutes included. Card on file, cancel anytime.

The short version: the AI Receptionist answers your store's phone when your team cannot.

  • It always tells callers it is a virtual assistant.
  • It answers only from the information you give it, such as your shipping, returns and sizing details, and never invents prices, availability or promises.
  • It can take a message with the caller's order details, transfer the caller to your team during business hours, or book a call on your calendar (on Growth and above).
  • After each call you get an email with a summary and the full transcript.

What it does

A customer line that never misses a shopper

Switchboard · your lines
Illustration with example data

Transfers to your team

During business hours it can hand the call to your sales or support team. After hours it takes a message instead of sending shoppers to voicemail.

Answers shopper questions

Shipping times, return windows, sizing and product details come from your knowledge base and your own notes. When it does not know something, it offers to take a message instead of guessing.

Line 2 · booking a visit
Illustration with example data

Books calls and visits

On Growth and above, which include online booking, it books callbacks, consultations or showroom visits on your calendar, and only confirms once the calendar says it is booked.

Takes order issues properly

A damaged item, a wrong size, a late delivery: it writes down what the caller needs, with any order number they give, and reads their callback number back so the details you get are right.

A summary of every call

Each call is transcribed, summarised and emailed to you, and it shows up with your other leads.

Honest with callers

Every call starts with a notice that the caller is speaking to a virtual assistant and that the call may be recorded. Emergencies are told to call 911.

    6. Caller: Yeah, it's Dev. Dev Patel.

    A question it can't answer

    Larkspur Bakery

Amy asked whether the bakery ships birthday cakes to another state, for her sister in Ohio. That was not in your notes, so she left a message for a call back.

    2. Caller: Hi! Quick question. Do you ship birthday cakes out of state? It's for my sister in Ohio.
    3. Tactly: I don't have that information, and I'd rather not guess. I can have the owner call you back with an answer. Would that help?
    4. Caller: Yeah, that's fine. It's Amy, at 555 0163.
    5. Tactly: That's Amy at 555 0163. The owner will call you back about shipping a cake to Ohio.

How it works

Ready after one test call

  1. 1

    Tell it about your store

Write your greeting and the notes it should answer from: shipping, returns, sizing and the questions shoppers ask most.

  2. 2

    Choose when it answers

Missed calls and after hours, after hours only, missed calls only, or every call, with your own hours and ring time.

  3. 3

    Test, then switch on

Make a free test call to hear it, then turn on answering.

Why it matters

A missed call is often a lost order

A shopper who picks up the phone usually has one question standing between them and checkout, or a problem with an order they already placed. Voicemail loses the first and frustrates the second. The AI Receptionist gives every caller an answer, a message taken properly or a person on the line.

Answers

Shipping, returns and product questions, day and night.

Captures

Order issues with a confirmed callback number.

Reports

A summary and transcript of every call.

Already a client? Add Tactly from your 1Digital client portal or your WorkspaceCMS dashboard so everything stays on one account.

Calls under 15 seconds are not billed. Switch plans any time, prorated. No website needed. Billed monthly through your 1Digital account, and you see the price before you pay. On a WorkspaceCMS Essentials website plan it cannot book appointments; booking by phone needs Growth or above. Extra charges outside the plan: each phone number outside the US (Mexico, Spain or Latin America) is $10 a month on top of your plan and takes calls only; it cannot send texts. Your US local number, and texting on it, are included in every plan with no extra fee.

How much does it cost?
There are three plans: Starter $49/mo for 100 minutes, Pro $99/mo for 250 minutes, Growth $199/mo for 600 minutes. Past a plan's minutes, each extra minute is billed at that plan's rate, and calls under 15 seconds are not billed. Every plan includes the receptionist's phone number, after-hours answering, booking, transfers and an email summary of each call.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial on tactly.ai with 30 answered minutes included. A card is kept on file and nothing is charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel anytime before then.
Do callers know they are talking to AI?
Yes, always. Every call starts with a notice that the caller is speaking to a virtual assistant. If your greeting leaves it out, it is added.
Can I get it on the Essentials plan?
Yes. The AI Receptionist is available on every WorkspaceCMS plan, including Essentials, and it comes with its own phone number. On Essentials it answers your calls, answers callers' questions, takes messages, transfers calls and emails you a summary of every call. Booking appointments by phone needs Growth or above, which includes online booking.
Can it look up an order's status?
No. It answers from your knowledge base and notes, such as your shipping and returns policies, not from your store's order data. For a question about a specific order it takes the order number and a confirmed callback number, so your team can follow up.
Does it work for service businesses too?
Yes. It answers calls the same way for dentists, HVAC companies, law firms, med spas, plumbers and real estate agents, and on Growth and above books appointments on their calendar. The industry guides above show how it fits each one.
Can I keep my business number?
Yes. You forward unanswered calls from your existing number to the receptionist's number, so callers keep dialling the number they know.
Will it make things up?
No. It answers only from your knowledge base and notes, never invents prices, stock, delivery dates or promises, and offers to take a message when it does not know.
Can it answer more than one call at the same time?
Yes. Every call gets its own receptionist, so a second caller is answered right away, with no busy signal or voicemail. There is no limit on simultaneous calls on any plan. To stop spam from using your minutes, it answers up to 50 calls a day on Starter, 100 on Pro and 200 on Growth. If a limit is reached, calls simply ring your phone as usual.
Can spam calls run up my bill?
No. Calls are capped per day and per caller, and past those limits calls simply ring through as normal.
Do I need Call Tracking too?
No. The two work on their own, and they work well together.
How do I cancel?
From your account. The receptionist keeps answering until the end of the period you have already paid for.
