Why Replatform
Shopify's checkout is a locked black box outside of Checkout Extensibility's narrow extension points. BigCommerce Open Checkout ships as a forkable React + TypeScript application — you own the codebase, your devs can rewrite any step (cart, shipping, billing, payment) without waiting on Shopify to expose an API for it.
Shopify charges 0.15–2% transaction fees on every order if you don't use Shopify Payments — a structural tax that compounds with every gateway you actually want to use (Adyen, Authorize.net, Cybersource, Worldpay).
