Client Requirements
MCS Gearup, a client of more than four years, sells gun parts and shooting attachments — optics, lights, micro conversion kits (MCKs), and assembled uppers — in an industry that is completely PPC-restricted. Because the core catalog is firearms-related, paid advertising on Google, Meta, and similar platforms isn't an option; any account would be flagged and suspended regardless of what individual products might otherwise qualify. That left organic channels, and SEO in particular, as the only viable path to growth — not just for its ROI, but because the authority it builds can be extended into content marketing and AI-era optimization over time.
The deeper challenge wasn't launching the campaign but sustaining it. Early keyword wins came unusually fast and largely maxed out within about a year, after which growth went flat — a plateau that required re-strategizing rather than simply doing more of the same.
1Digital® Solution
1Digital® Agency built a methodical SEO program anchored in a website audit, competitor and industry analysis, and selection of high-volume, low-difficulty, high-relevance keywords, then executed across technical and site-structure optimization, site speed and security improvements, product and category page optimization, meta titles and descriptions, a stream of optimized blogs doing double-duty as content marketing, and off-page posts to build backlinks and domain authority. When early gains plateaued roughly a year in, the team regrouped and realigned the campaign around a fresh set of relevant keywords. Compounded over the following period, the work more than halved average position — effectively a full page of ranking improvement across the board — grew impressions and clicks with no drop in click-through rate, lifted overall traffic more than 50% with average engagement above three minutes, and drove blog traffic up over 260%, strengthening the site's citations through generative engines.
Google Ads, step by step
Every click should have a way to pay for itself
Here is what we watch in a Google Ads account. Clicks flow from the ad to the page to the sale and thin out at every stage. We read the search terms report every week, add the queries that never buy as negatives, and move the budget to the searches that do.
- ›Search terms reviewed and negatives added on a schedule
- ›Budget moved toward the queries that convert
- ›Conversion tracking checked before anything is scaled
