Custom Design: Health Chemist came to 1Digital® Agency looking for a comprehensive redesign that would bring the functionality of their store into its full potential with a sleek, modern, conversion-optimized design. As a part of the project, our design team created a completely new, brand integrated homepage for HealthChemist.Co.Nz, with new customer banners.
The new homepage was much more modern and optimized for conversions, placing featured and popular brands, bestsellers and new arrivals in prominent locations on the page. Near the top of the new homepage, we also created navigation badges for “What Ails You,” whereby customers could navigate through their products based on their symptoms.
The new homepage also featured new banners that the client could customize with promotional imagery in order to push products based on seasonality, relevance or recency of release. Our design team also created a new advanced mega menu for Health Chemist which neatly and succinctly categorized their particularly diverse collection of brands, including beauty and wellness products.
Advanced Development: As this website was going to receive an entirely new custom design, the project also entailed extensive, advanced development to ensure that every feature was properly integrated and functional. 1Digital® developed a responsive website, along with several system pages, including the shopping cart and checkout pages, a custom 404 page, and others.
1Digital® Agency disabled a series of active modules on Health Chemist’s website while at the same time restyling and reconfiguring several existing modules in order to streamline and improve the user experience. Among the restyled and reconfigured modules were the Ultimate Gift Certificate module (we replaced the existing module with the platform’s standard functionality), as well as modules for product reviews and ratings, first time customer coupons, suggested products, volume discounts, and SearchSpring, among many others. Each of these modules was either restyled or reconfigured to ensure seamless functionality and a high-level user experience.
1Digital® Agency also set up abandoned cart functionality for Health Chemist, configuring the basket and the settings based on their platform’s native functionality. This tool enables Health Chemist to foster conversions by getting in touch with users that have created and then abandoned their carts. We also configured a checkout page for Health Chemist that was optimized for user experience and provided a streamlined, enjoyable experience.

SEO: Local Battery operates in a niche industry, selling hearing aid parts, batteries, cleaning products, and other accessories. Despite the fact that they have excellent prices, customer service and a broad selection, they face stiff competition from other larger sellers like Amazon and Wal-Mart who have big budgets and strong domain authority. They needed a sustainable solution for growing organic traffic to their website in the long term.
1Digital® Agency optimized their website following our results-driven eCommerce SEO process and began optimizing existing content on their website and published a stream of fresh content on targeted pages of their site. We also implemented a special link strategy, building internal link structure and generating backlinks by posting to third-party locations. Targeting a unique mix of high-volume, competitive keywords and keywords that represented more easily attainable opportunities, 1Digital® Agency’s SEO campaign for Local Battery generated more, better-targeted organic traffic to Local Battery’s website after only a few weeks.
[ Migration, Design, Development ]
Migration: Quantum Fuel Systems, which develops and produces a range of fuel system and engine management components, was based on a platform called WebShopManager. They needed a more scalable solution that would facilitate user experience; for that they partnered with 1Digital® Agency to get them off their old platform and onto a newly designed and developed Bigcommerce store.
Quantum Fuel sells a large range of products for many different types of engines, including but not limited to automotive, marine and machinery engines. The migration entailed a massive volume of information, including over 50 blog posts and associated information, imagery, tags and history. During the migration, 1Digital® also had to carefully handle the transfer of a large body of sensitive information; in the case of the client’s “Customer Ride Page,” which enables users to submit images of their own custom-built vehicles for display in a showcase, 1Digital® had to carefully reconstruct the page for the new site, preserving all of the original functionality.
Custom Design: Their newly designed website represented a significant improvement over their previous website. Although Quantum Fuel maintained its original logo, we designed a brand new BigCommerce store making better use of their brand colors and significantly updating the overall appearance and interface of their website.
1Digital® created a brand new homepage for them, showcasing both their top categories and partner brands, as well as several methods for navigating the site, by vehicle or by category. We created custom banners for display on the homepage, along with new category, product and About Us pages, in addition to styling 42 different content pages. As delivering informative content to their customers aids significantly in both the customer experience and the likelihood of conversion, 1Digital® Agency had to meticulously design pages corresponding to and displaying business critical content, including but not limited to vehicle-specific intakes, injectors, mufflers, suspension, fuel pumps, and other relevant parts and components.

The custom subcategory landing page template 1Digital® Agency designed significantly boosts the user engagement. When a customer clicks on one subcategory, such as AN Fittings and Hoses, instead of being dumped into a page containing all of the products, the subcategory page improves the navigational hierarchy and customer experience by deliver a neat arrangement of subcategories under “AN Fittings and Hoses” such as “Adapters,” “Bulkhead Fittings,” “Caps and Plugs.”
1Digital®’s developers also integrated an EmailMeForm into the new BigCommerce store, streamlining the process by which the site’s admins could collect and categorize information received from customers and other visitors to their site.
1Digital®, with the help of third-party, InstantSearch+, delivered an all-encompassing search platform to replace the standard BigCommerce search functionality. BigCommerce’s limitations to their standard search functionality were concerning to the client because they limited customers’ ability to search for specific SKUs and MPNs. Alongside InstantSearch+, 1Digital® was able to integrate a full-service search functionality that allows users to search for specific parts and even product variants by SKU and MPN with greater ease and facility.
Custom App Integration: Functional search features and user navigation are vital to the health of any eCommerce operation. 1Digital® integrated a custom app for Quantum Fuel located on their homepage and throughout their website that enables their visitors to narrow their search according to type of vehicle, such as, for example, an ATV, UTV, marine engine, automotive engine, or even a golf cart or a jet ski.
1Digital® Agency seamlessly integrated the “Year Make Model Search by Capacity” 3rd party application into the client’s BigCommerce website. This application enables users to search for a specific vehicle engine by type, year, make, model utilizing a series of drop down menus. This functionality serves as another interface to the site’s navigational hierarchy and presents an alternative over traditional search features.
This feature has significantly impacted the user experience for the better, resulting in a finely faceted search that produces precisely the compatible parts and systems customers are seeking, without requiring them to search using frustratingly broad criteria or terms.

Migration: Hansen Wheel & Wagon Shop operates in a particularly niche industry; the company produces functional wheels for horse drawn wagons of a variety of sorts. Hansen Wheel & Wagon, at HansenWheel.com, had been built on Magento. Despite Magento’s robust capabilities, Hansen’s large collection of products and categories, as well information regarding their stock and services, had become too cumbersome to manage. They looked to the scalability and streamlined management of a SaaS platform to enable continued growth into the future. BigCommerce fit the bill, and 1Digital® Agency got them from point A to point B as effortlessly as could be hoped.
The scope of the migration entailed more than 60 categories comprising north of 500 products, along with subcategories, descriptions, images, prices, stock-keeping information, and metadata associated with each of these, along with customer information. 1Digital® Agency conducted a meticulous migration from their Magento store onto a newly designed BigCommerce store, implementing standard 301 redirects along the way and monitoring their Google Search Console to ensure there were no adverse responses in traffic.
Custom Design: In order to better serve their customers in the wake of migration, Hansen Wheel & Wagon Shop partnered with 1Digital® Agency for a brand new custom design including a new homepage with custom banners and a newly designed, brand cohesive standard mega menu along with new custom category and product pages.
As a part of the newly designed store, 1Digital® Agency created a new custom subcategory page that called attention to their unique subcategories of products and services, including but not limited to wheel repair, custom built wheels, antique wheels and more. This template also included features facilitating navigation to top-performing, popular products.
Their new website in general was endowed with the perfect balance of the historical aesthetic on which the company leans and a modern, scroll-friendly website that appears more organized and is easier to digest. Their new homepage design, in particular, provided a more aligned visual aesthetic with their brand, which draws heavily on the influences of history and nostalgia. We also afforded prime homepage real estate to promote their restoration services and some of their featured categories and top products, utilizing attractive original imagery along the way.
Advanced Development: Because Hansen Wheel and Wagon Shop was migrating to a completely new BigCommerce store, they needed some advanced development items to ensure the new store provided their customers the functionality they had come to expect from the company.
1Digital® Agency’s development team constructed a sandbox to begin development of the new site, including the styling of checkout and cart pages, a new “Thank You” page, a blog and 20 content pages. Among these were FAQs and Company History pages, collections of videos, pages for displaying information on shipping, privacy, return and contact information and several others. Hansen Wheel and Wagon also provides several proprietary services for Wagon Restoration and Wheel Repair; 1Digital® Agency styled and developed several content pages focusing on these unique aspects of this client’s business.
In addition to styling these system pages, 1Digital® Agency’s development team created “Request a Quote” functionality for the client, in the form of a button on the product page. Interested customers can easily request a quote; this tool sends an email with the customer and SKU information at the completion of the request. This functionality was made practical utilizing third party integrations to provide Hansen Wheel’s administrators with the quote request along with detailed product and customer information, creating a seamless, efficient quoting process.
1Digital® also created custom ShowCase and Gallery Pages for this client to promote and display their products using colorful, original imagery and videos to engage and interest the client’s customers, encouraging conversions.

Custom Design: BC International, which owns the Maximilian brand and is the largest fur company in North America, produces some of the finest and most exclusive fur garments and accessories in the world. Traditionally, BC International relied on retail sales for revenue, but has made significant changes to pursue the opportunities that exist in eCommerce, including but not limited to the ability to reach a broader market and to pursue targeted digital marketing initiatives. For this, they needed a brand new eCommerce storefront.
BC International and its brand, Maximilian, possess unrivaled mystique and sophistication. Producing a newly designed and developed online storefront for their operation would require an equally refined and highly modern aesthetic paired with seamless brand integration to complement their exquisite portfolio of products. Building the website from scratch, 1Digital®’s designers created a new custom homepage with new banners for featuring their fur products prominently and attractively to visitors to their website.
As it was brand new, the website needed category and product pages to be built from the ground up, 1Digital® created category and product pages for BC International that featured the same dignified minimalism of the homepage and the rest of the website. In addition, 1Digital® crafted an About Us page, along with several other content and policy pages, in alignment with the company’s brand strategy. Their new website design was also seamlessly integrated with their social media platforms, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
Advanced Development: Since Maximilian.com is a brand new website and needed to promote the integrity of a well-established brand, BC International partnered with 1Digital® Agency for some advanced development items to create a visually stunning storefront and an enjoyable user experience. A large part of the project was the advanced responsive development that 1Digital® Agency performed for BC International to ensure an enjoyable shopping experience, regardless of the device used to access the website.
As a part of the customizations, 1Digital® Agency developed an image upload feature for the product pages as well as a return form fill page to streamline the return process, which we built into a styled CMS page. 1Digital® also developed “About the Model” sections for the client’s product pages; this feature was designed to give shoppers an impression of how Maximilian’s fur garments would fit them.
1Digital® Agency also implemented Google Analytics codes for tracking information across the client’s new website which prove highly valuable in assessing the effectiveness of digital marketing initiatives and customer behavior. In order to improve the shopping experience for BC International’s customers, 1Digital® configured and implemented Affirm to enable the client to offer financing options to its customers, as well as QuickBooks, so that the client could better manage invoicing and payments.
SEO Maximilian.com provides a very large catalog of luxury fur goods, including but not limited to jackets, coats, hats, and many other modern, trendy accessories. A massive pool of lucrative keywords existed for them to target through an SEO campaign, with a great deal of targeted search intent to make the campaign valuable.
