Custom Design: Funkypiece operates from Funkypiece.com and three locations in the D.C. metro area, offering a wide range of smoking glass and accessories to its clients. When they partnered with 1Digital® Agency for a custom redesign in 2021, they were working with a website design that was scroll-friendly and otherwise easy to navigate but didn’t fully capture the essence of their brand. Without proper brand integration to distinguish Funkypiece Smoke Shop as unique from its online competitors, there was a great opportunity on the table for a redesign.
1Digital® Agency’s design team streamlined the design of their homepage, removing the loud excesses of color that were present before, simplifying and minimizing aesthetics. In place of the distracting, full-color imagery of the product categories that were previously featured at the top of the homepage, 1Digital® Agency created a series of simple, navigable category icons that were less overwhelming, more succinct, and did not distract from the rest of the homepage.
Our designers preserved the scroll-friendliness of the website design and created a section to display bestsellers and featured categories. Their new homepage now displays a special section for a single featured product and prominently advertises their retail locations. In addition to the redesign work we performed for their homepage, our designers also applied our new custom aesthetic to a number of preexisting pages that the client wanted to keep.
