Volusion offers a ton of awesome social media integration features which are an excellent way to grow your ecommerce business and connect with customers. In addition to social media, blogs are another great method for reaching out to your customers and boosting SEO.  Unfortunately, Volusion does not support the direct integration of a blog in its platform, but you can use an outside blogging platform to integrate with Volusion. In the following tutorial, we will show you how to do this with WordPress, one of the most widely-used blogging platforms.

Blog creation and hosting

Before you can link your blog to your Volusion store, you must first create and host a blog on a third party site.  We recommend using HostGator for a no-nonsense, simple to use, and affordable website hosting solution. Once you have your WordPress blog properly hosted, follow the instructions below to integrate it with your Volusion store.

  1. Go to and navigate to Manage DNS.

  2. Click Add New Record.

  3. In the first field, type the subdomain name you want for the blog

  4. Select CNAME from the Record Type dropdown menu.

  5. Type in your WordPress blog name into the first field and “” into the second.

Example: If your WordPress blog is called, you would just type in “awesomesauce” as the blog name.

  1. Click Save.

  2. Login in to your WordPress dashboard and navigate to Store > Domains.

  3. Type in the URL you want the blog to have in the Add a Domain section.

  4. Click Add Domain to Blog.

Example: If your store is called “Awesome Sauce,” you will likely want the subdomain of your blog to be:

  1. If you have done everything correctly, you will be prompted to pay for the upgrade and finish the mapping process.

Congratulations! You have successfully integrated a blog with your Volusion store!

Our designers and developers here at 1Digital Agency are Volusion experts and are more than happy to help set up a blog that you have hosted for you and even design it to mirror your Volusion store theme.
